Helping New Yorkers Find Care

What do we do?

We help our fellow community members in NYC find mental health care providers such as therapists and counseling services.

Who are we?

We're entirely community members and volunteers from different walks of life. Among us include former 988 Suicide Lifeline crisis counselors and current counselors here in New York City.

What services are offered?

Currently, we offer a free therapist matching service. You answer a few questions, and we'll do the searching for you and send you a list of providers that could work well with you. This is not a crisis service. If you're in crisis, call the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

About Us

New York Care Collective helps New Yorkers navigate the process of finding a therapist or mental health provider. We’re a small, volunteer-run initiative built to make the “first step” feel doable when someone is overwhelmed. What we do
• We collect a few practical constraints (insurance, budget, location, preferences).
• We research and curate a short list of providers that fit.
• We send you options and keep working with you until you find a provider.
What we are not
• We are not a clinic and we don’t provide therapy.
• We don’t diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice.
• We can’t guarantee provider availability or acceptance of insurance.
• We are not a crisis service and we do not provide emergency services. If you have an emergency, call 911. If you need immediate crisis support, call or text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
How it works
1. You submit an intake with your constraints and what you’re looking for.
2. We reply with a short list of options and next steps.
3. You contact providers directly to schedule.
4. If the matches aren't a fit, we continue working with you and researching providers until we find one that works for you.
